Dreamsea Surf Camp of Costa Rica is not just any surf camp. At Dreamsea Costa Rica we are a family. There are many activities one can participate in along with surfing, including yoga, body boarding, exploring the city, hanging out at the local Tamarindo bars, and adventuring to other nearby beaches. In this video, you can get a small glimpse of what a week can look like at Dreamsea Costa Rica.

As my two months here at Dreamsea comes to a close, I have noticed how much I have grown as a person, and how much I have learned from my new friends that I have made during my time here. It is amazing to constantly be surrounded by adventurous, positive people from all over the world. When a camper’s time at Dreamsea comes to a close, there are similar themes in what that person says they have learned. Most campers and I would agree that you gain confidence when traveling alone to another country. One may also be surprised about how close you can get to people with different backgrounds, cultures, and languages than oneself. It is refreshing to find people with the same excitement and love for traveling that you have. It is extremely important to have an open mind to everyone and their beliefs. I’ve actually learned so much when it comes to how other people view ideas and beliefs, and it is very educational and interesting to see a different view on a particular topic.

It is important to have some alone time enjoying the stunning Costa Rican sunsets, and to be thankful about how lucky you are to be able to see such a beautiful place. Doing yoga in the morning keeps your mind and body feeling healthy and full of positive energy for the whole day. I have learned if something scares you, it might be a good idea to try it! I have never been so proud of myself when I cliff jumped off a rock I seriously did not think I could even climb up. The look on a person’s face after they accomplish something that scares them, is a look that I never want to forget.

Most importantly, other campers and I always talk about how we have learned to live in the moment more, and not worry so much about the past or the future. So many people go through life always looking at the next thing until life passes them by. Everything always happens for a reason, and will work out in the end. Go ahead and have that beer, look into the sunset, and be content with your life, and everything in the present moment.

PURA VIDA!
